It was over a decade ago that Shrikanth Shriram made his own breakthrough. He was a key member on Outcaste Records, the label that put the Asian Underground on the map. During that boom, Shri became a key member of Nitin Sawhney’s band. Soon after he launched his 1997 UK debut Drum The Bass, which referred to the artist’s trademark percussive attack on his self-made fretless bass, an instrument whose body had been customized to be able to go beyond the reaches of bass playing as we know it.

Both intensely physical and delicately lyrical, the music captures and filters the energy of the drum & bass and electronic scenes into intricate arrangements informed by both entrancing Indian ragas and cyclonic jazz improvisations.

Lord Kimo

Lord Kimo honed his vocal talents and artistic persona around the Ragga /Hip hop/ DnB sound system dances of the early 90s, before beginning his illustrious recording career. Then, he went on to record vocals and co produce for Dub / Punk / Rock outfit Asian Dub Foundation on their hit albums Enemy of the enemy andTank. He toured the globe as one of the front men of the group, captivating audiences with his powerful vocals, good vibes and stage presence.

He is currently working on his latest project, Empire’s Dust for a 2013 release. He has also collaborated with the likes of Sean Paul, Roni Size, G-Unit, and Public Enemy.
