The third edition of 100 Pipers India Music Week, presented by Rock Street Journal, returns once more this year, from December 4 to 8. The showcase festival will be held in Mumbai this year, with artists from India, Norway, and France performing at The Blue Frog and Cafe Zoe in Lower Parel. This year's line-up features a host of eclectic artists spanning multiple genres, from experimental-progressive jazz, electronica, blues, alt-rock and rock 'n' roll, and much more, with renowned Norwegian jazz ensemble Jaga Jazzist, Samsaya (Norway), Blackstratblues, Soulmate, and many more taking the stage this year.
India Music Week III also features a two-day music conference as well, supported by Rikskonsertene/Concerts Norway, which will be held at the True School of Music on December 4 and 5. It is aimed at musicians and individuals and organizations working within the music industry, centered around the two main themes of Music Technology and Education. It will host a number of delegates from India as well as professionals from abroad..
The festival is the brainchild of the late Amit Saigal, the founder of Rock Street Journal, as a response to the need to consolidate the nascent Indian independent music industry through a sustainable platform interacting with the global marketplace. 100 Pipers India Music Week is owned, conceptualized and organized by Rock Street Journal Magazine, who have been pioneers in creating platforms for the independent music scene in India since 1993.
