Bushra Shariff, the founder of Zenslap Artist Management, has been associated with the Indian Independent Music Scene for about 4 years. The foundation of Zenslap was laid during the ban on Live Music in Bangalore when Bushra and some of her friends got together to help artists that had lost almost all platforms in the city (due to the idiotic misinterpretation of bands being the same as cabarets). This was done by organizing shows in public spaces such as parks where alcohol wasn’t a necessity, entry was zero and the event was open to all musicians and music lovers, genre no bar. These events lead Bushra to realize that there were a few artists that needed nurturing and attention to grow to their fullest. Zenslap has since then been an interface between the world and an artist. An interface that is fair, transparent and favours the artists who are generally unaware or find it too tedious to be aware of mundane procedures associated with playing shows, releasing material and seeking a greater reach. Zenslap also serves as a booking agency, that curates artists for varied events.

Zenslap now manages two of the most talented bands in the country The Bicycle Days and Adam and the Fish Eyed Poets. Along with names like Amit Heri , Lucky Ali and Thaalavattam. The criteria for artist selection has been based on honest appreciation of their music. A Zenslap artist makes music for the sheer love of the process and nothing but. The bond between the artist manager and artist is strengthened by the mutual respect for each others’ expertise , where the artist expresses to his/ her fullest and the manager provides the reach.
